Above the Olympic theater

the eyes of the world are focused.

With a longing to unite

in joyful goodwill,

the representatives of humanity

parade around the circle of Nations,

orbiting the center as worldly stars.

Each arrayed in their nation’s colors

carrying a flags of their home land.

A spectacular ceremonial celebration

culminates in the presentation

of the Olympic torch of LIGHT.

It brings forth Light to rekindle

 the world’s flame of excellence.

Eyes swell with tears as

 individualized empowerment

touches each open heart.
